Involved in the publishing world - as an editor, author, and publisher -
since her early 20s, Dr. Jan Yager has worked at Macmillan Publishing Company and Grove
Press. When just 26, her first book, the result of 6 years of original research including
a trip to India to study Gandhi, THE VEGETABLE PASSION: THE HISTORY OF THE VEGETARIAN
STATE OF MIND, was published by Scribner's (under her maiden name of Janet Barkas).
Dr. Yager has been interviewed on scores of TV and radio shows, on-line, and by
newspapers, syndicates, and magazines including THE TODAY SHOW, FOX NEWS, CBS THIS
MORNING, NATIONAL PUBLIC RADIO, ASSOCIATED PRESS, THE WALL STREET JOURNAL, THE NEW YORK
TIMES, and PEOPLE magazine. Her 13 published books include the thriller UNTIMELY DEATH,
co-authored with her husband Fred, that the ASSOCIATED PRESS called "a winner."
Enthusiastic and knowledgeable about writing, getting published, and how to promote a
book, Dr. Yager is available to deliver keynotes, conduct seminars or workshops, or for
consulting on how to write, sell, or promote your book.
