Issue #3 - November 2003
"Ten Friends That Every Woman or Man Needs" describes essential friends to have
in your life (or to be for others). It need not be ten different people since
there could be overlap among categories. For example, The Realist could also be
a Same-Sex Friend and a Close Friend. Sociologist and friendship expert Dr.Jan
Yager concludes this original article with a reminder that far away friends are
fine but you also need at least one in closer proximity.

Issue #2 - September 2002
My baby boomer generation grew up asking, "What were you doing when you heard that President Kennedy was shot?" now
replaced by "Where were you when you first heard that the World Trade Center was under attack?" and "Have you changed
because of 9/11?"
Based on my own observations as well as fifty written communications
and interviews over the last 11 months, here are the seven ways
that 9/11 has impacted on friendship. |

Issue #1- August 2002
Please note: Although the questions that are asked in the e-zine are anonymous, these are actual questions that have been
posed by real people to friendship expert and author Jan Yager, Ph.D. In Issue #1 of Dr. Jan Yager's Friendship e-zine, she
answers the following friendship-related questions and concerns:
- "What do you do if you're always the one doing the calling?"
- Is an opposite-sex friendship that is totally platonic and between two happily married people "very unusual," "inappropriate,"
or is it okay"?
- "What's the best way to reestablish communication with an old friend with whom I have not spoken to for years?"
- "Do you think family members can be 'best friends'"?
